Center for Internet Security’s Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center Recognizes State and Local Governments in Best of the Web Contest
East Greenbush, N.Y. (PRWEB) December 11, 2014 -- The Center for Internet Security (CIS) today announced the finalists and winners of its annual Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center (MS-ISAC) Best of the Web Contest. The contest recognizes state and local governments that use their websites to promote cyber security. The winner in the state government category is Delaware, and the winner in the local government category is Cuyahoga County, Ohio.
The MS-ISAC’s Education and Awareness Workgroup reviewed and judged cyber security websites for all 50 state governments along with a number of U.S. territories and local governments, based upon several criteria including cyber security content, usability, accessibility, and appearance. The goal of the contest is to recognize commendable sites and highlight them as best practices for others to consider when developing or re-designing their own sites.
CIS President and CEO, and MS-ISAC Chair William Pelgrin said, “Congratulations to the finalists and winners for their efforts in creating and maintaining websites that promote cyber security and help educate users.”
Delaware Chief Information Security Officer Elayne Starkey said, “This award is a testament to the Delaware team’s hard work and dedication over the past months to improve our site and continue bringing important cyber security information to Delaware’s citizens.”
“I would like to applaud the Cuyahoga County Department of Information Technology Security and Research Team for its effort in protecting and working to keep our communities safe,” said Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald. “With all of the cyber security threats and cyber fraud taking place throughout the world we knew that we had to take action to provide a resource for our residents that would provide vital information to assist with preventing such threats.”
