Deliver flexibility, functionality and the finest cinematic experience

Christie®, a world leader in advanced cinema technologies, is showcasing a range of advanced cinema projection technologies and audio solutions at CineAsia 2014, which is taking place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, December 9-11.

This prestigious cinema exhibition is the only Pan-Asian event of its kind bringing together professionals from across the film industry, including cinema owners, suppliers, film buyers and distributors. At booth #201, Christie will present a comprehensive lineup of the latest cinema audio and visual solutions that offer the best and the most complete cinema experience to movie-goers.

“CineAsia is an important platform for the cinema industry in Asia and we have spared no effort to make sure that our best and most impressive cinema projection and audio technologies are showcased at this event,” said Lin Yu, vice president, Christie Asia Pacific. “Not only are we putting on a show of Christie’s latest equipment that delivers flexibility, functionality and the finest cinematic experience possible, we are also conducting exclusive demonstrations of our state-of-the-art 6P laser projector, complemented by the groundbreaking Christie Vive Audio™, for specially invited guests. We’re confident that the stellar lineup of featured products will reinforce our position as the pioneer and global leader of visual and audio technologies.”

Brilliant Lineup with Christie Solaria One+, Vive Audio, IMB, Xenolite Lamps and FHD551-XG

Among the items on display at the Christie booth at #201 is the Christie Solaria One+ digital cinema projection system which delivers 9000 lumens within the DCI color space and more than 10,000 lumens when presenting alternative content. With brilliant Xenon illumination and S2K DLP® Cinema® technology, the Christie Solaria One+ produces the highest quality images at the lowest possible total cost.

Another highlight at the booth is Christie Vive Audio, the world’s first audio system featuring Christie’s innovative wall and ceiling surround speakers, which are powered by unique, ribbon-driver technology in a parabolic line array design, purposely built for the cinema environment. Products showcased in Christie’s booth include the S115 and S215 subwoofers, LA1 and LA4 line array speakers, LS3S, LA3S and LA4S surround speakers, as well as CDA5 and CDA7 amplifiers. The Christie Vive Audio system is specially designed to support the leading cinema audio formats, including Dolby® Atmos™.

Also on display are the Christie IMB-S2 integrated media block (IMB) that decrypts and decodes feature-film content and delivers it to the projector in a useable format; a range of Christie Superior Performance (SP) Xenolite lamps, as well as the Christie Network Attached Storage (NAS) Server which works in tandem with the IMB and the Xenolite lamps to maximize the brightness and reliability of today’s digital cinema projection solutions.

Rounding out the impressive showcase is the 55-inch Christie FHD551-XG HD LCD flat panel display which is used to deliver video presentations of all products available at the booth. Ideal for a wide range of video wall display applications, this full-HD resolution, virtually seamless flat-panel display is energy efficient with LED backlighting and high pixel density. That means images look sharp at any distance, and information can be effectively conveyed with controlled brightness, suitable for an indoor environment.

Christie 6P Laser Projection System and Vive Audio Demos for VIP Guests

For the first time at CineAsia, Christie is conducting exclusive demonstrations of its breakthrough DLP® Cinema® laser projector using 6-Primary (6P) color laser modules that is ideally suited for immersive 3D experiences, as well as Christie Vive Audio, which extends the boundaries of movie exhibition by matching awe-inspiring visuals with rich, dynamic and detailed cinema audio.

Christie’s latest laser projection technology, using 6 specific primary colors rather than filtered or polarized broad-spectrum white light, brings dramatically improved 3D efficiency to projection systems, regardless of the size of screen in premium movie theaters. It offers an improved viewing experience, scalability and upgradability, lower overall cost and the ability to achieve DCI color compliancy. These amazing visuals are complemented by the innovative Christie Vive Audio that envelopes the audience in dynamic, richly detailed and enhanced audio where speech, special effects, music, and alternative content sound more natural and lifelike.

Christie’s 6P laser technology was recently announced as a foundation technology for Dolby Cinema™, a branded premium cinema offering for exhibitors and movie-goers that delivers the total cinema experience. (Click here to read the press release)
