Dr. Jenyons’ Medical Weight Loss & Rejuvenation Center Holds Holiday Food Drive to Help The Cityline Church Food Pantry in Their Fight Against Hunger
Bayonne, NJ (PRWEB) December 13, 2014 -- After collecting charitable food donations from Nov. 10-25, Dr. Jenyons’ Medical Weight Loss & Rejuvenation Center is hosting a second collection from Dec. 8-23 to gather more food for the holidays.
“There is no time better than now, during the height of the holiday season, to demonstrate our solidarity to people who are less fortunate than us,” said Dr. Jenyons.
This is the first year that Dr. Jenyons’ Medical Weight Loss & Rejuvenation Center has participated in a food drive. All donations will go to Cityline Church, which opened its own food pantry in April. The donations collected at Dr. Jenyons’ Medical Weight Loss & Rejuvenation Center will help the church stockpile necessities like canned goods, pasta and baking items.
“We wanted to get our own patients involved and help people who may not have enough food in order to enjoy the holidays,” said Dr. Jenyons. “We just felt that helping people less fortunate will make not only those in need happier, but it has also made the practice and our patients happier as well.”
As an added incentive, patients that visit Dr. Jenyons’ Medical Weight Loss & Rejuvenation Center can get discounts on weight loss treatments when they donate. Patients who donate five items can get $100 off weight loss diet plans, $500 off laser liposuction (or lipotherm) treatment, $50 off botox treatments or $50 off skin tightening and cellulite reduction. Patients who donate 10 items get double the discount.
The initial collection period in November was extremely successful. “Some patients even brought items in without taking advantage of the deals, while others brought in 20 to 30 items,” said Dr. Jenyons. “There was a tremendous amount of support and participation from both patients and staff and I was so pleasantly surprised by the outcome, which is why we decided to extend the deadline!”
Dr. Jenyons hopes the food drive will motivate people in the area to get involved in a good cause. “I can see us creating a life-long friendship with Cityline Church in the future,” said Dr. Jenyons, “And we are most certainly planning on holding the food drive next year.”
