Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) December 12, 2014
Garth Brooks is one of the biggest names in the history of music and he has been wowing fans all year with his return to the stage on the “Garth Brooks World Tour.” The tour has taken Brooks to sold out venues around the United States and has shown fans that despite not having toured for close to a decade, he hasn’t missed a single step. Brooks continues to announce new tour dates and venues that will keep him and wife Trisha Yearwood on the road into 2015 including the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, PA. Brooks has currently announced three shows that will take place in Pittsburgh, with one on February 5 at 6:30 p.m., and two more shows on February 7, first at 6:30 p.m. and then again at 10:30 p.m. If these initial shows sell out, there is a good chance that Garth will add more dates as he has done in other tour cities.
Brooks entered the music business in 1984 and has released 9 studio albums, 4 compilation albums, and 1 live album. Together, these albums have sold more than 190 million records worldwide and close to 70 million in the United States, which going back to January 1991 when Nielson SoundScan began tracking sales, makes him the best-selling artist in the country. 6 of his albums have sold more than 10 million copies in the United States, earning Diamond certification from the Recording Industry Association of America. Last month, Brooks released Man Against Machine, which opened atop the country album charts and has peaked at No.4 on the Billboard 200 charts.
Opening the three shows in Pittsburgh for the country legend will be his wife, Yearwood. Yearwood, a popular country performer in her own right has been in the business since 1989 and is a member of the Grand Ole Opry and has also been inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame. In her career, she has sold more than 15 million records around the world, has won 3 Grammy Awards, 2 Academy of Country Music Awards, 3 Country Music Association Awards, and an American Music Award. She can also currently be seen on the Food Network where she hosts an Emmy Award winning series, Trisha’s Southern Kitchen.
The Consol Energy Center is a multi-purpose venue that is currently the home of the Pittsburgh Penguins from the National Hockey League. The venue originally opened in 2010 and already has a great history of being the site of memorable events and performances. Opening night of the Consol Energy Center began with a performance from former The Beatles member, Paul McCartney. Other artists that have graced the stage that Brooks and Yearwood will perform at include Lady Gaga, Rush, Reba McEntire, George Strait, Katy Perry, Cher, and Justin Bieber.
