Former Johnson & Johnson Senior Executive to Lead New Early Stage Diabetes Device Company
New City, NY (PRWEB) December 15, 2014 -- Smart Meter Corporation, a New York company developing innovative diabetes medical devices including the iGlucose® Blood Glucose Monitoring System, recently announced that Wycliffe (Cliff) X. McIntosh has joined the company as their Chief Executive Officer.
“We are delighted to obtain someone who has broad leadership experience, demonstrated global brand development success, and an outstanding work knowledge of the diabetes space. We look forward to Cliff’s contribution in building our unique brand value and leading us to commercial success,” said Ron Ostroff, Smart Meter’s Chairman.
Cliff McIntosh has over 30 years of medical device and diagnostic experience with much of his knowledge coming from his senior commercial roles at Johnson & Johnson and several early stage medical device companies. During his tenure with the multi-national medical device, pharmaceutical, and consumer goods manufacturer, he was responsible for establishing blood glucose monitoring market leadership across international regions and launched the successful LifeScan* One Touch®* brand in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. He was also instrumental in creating the global Johnson & Johnson Diabetes Institute and plans to continue his success with the iGlucose® Blood Glucose Monitoring System.
“Today, people with diabetes, and their caregivers, still have many unmet needs. I am elated to join the team at this stage of the company’s evolution and play a key role in launching innovative diabetes technologies that will help define a new level of user engagement in the healthcare continuum,” said Cliff McIntosh. “Providing simple tools to help people with diabetes master their condition, seamlessly connect with their support team, and together eliminate potential complications will ultimately improve the quality of life for people around the world.”
