Public Safety Entity Installs Cudatel Communication Server and 200 Handsets

“We relied on InterDev during the Cudatel phone roll-out not only to help install new equipment but also to maintain our existing equipment,” said BCSO IT Manager Robert C. Urie.

InterDev, an Atlanta-area provider of information technology and security services, today announced it sold a Barracuda Networks Cudatel Communications Server 670B and more than 200 handsets to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) in Brevard County, Florida. InterDev’s support of the Sheriff’s Department during the installation and overall service excellence has led the BCSO to name the firm its Preferred Vendor for IP Phone Systems.

“We relied on InterDev during the Cudatel phone roll-out not only to help install new equipment but also to maintain our existing equipment,” said BCSO IT Manager Robert C. Urie. “InterDev has provided excellent service. They have been innovative in their solutions, even when it meant more work and less gain than what was originally designed. We were very pleased with their service, their expertise, their professionalism on the job and their ability to meet short deadlines.”

According to Urie, the BCSO experienced a few glitches with the roll-out, most of which were the result of manufacturing design issues. Yet, he noted, InterDev remained steadfast in its commitment to the Sheriff’s Office and its personnel, as well as in its support for the project’s long-term success. “InterDev has gone beyond what the manufacturer would cover many times, making sure that we had what we needed,” said Urie. “They go the extra mile when we need their help, they respond to calls from many different departments within our company, they work professionally around our employees and customers, and their service people comply with the FBI’s Criminal Justice Information Services Division guidelines, which we must follow. We can depend upon them, and we know it.”

Features of the Cudatel Communications Server 670B that the Brevard County Sheriff’s Department deployed included all of the following features at no additional licensing cost:

  •     Call recording and call monitoring
  •     Multi-site integration
  •     Encrypted VOIP support
  •     Call center monitoring
  •     High-definition voice quality
  •     Voicemail to email/ Fax to email

“Brevard County wanted a full-service VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) solution that was easy to install and configure, and we helped them find one in the Cudatel Communications Server,” said InterDev CEO Gary Nichols. “The Cudatel server is so user-friendly it practically installs itself.”
