“I want to show you another lick and to be honest I have no idea what I am going to show you”, says Johnson, “so I just turned on the camera to see if I could come up with something”. Claude demonstrates this easy beginner lead guitar lick in the key of E based out of the major pentatonic scale. “If you already know the basic pentatonic pattern all you have to do is go down three frets from any minor key to find the relative major”, says Johnson. Claude moves across multiple positions of the pentatonic scale using slides and legato. Claude also demonstrates how to mix licks that cross back and forth from major pentatonic to minor pentatonic so you can get a great variety of sound out of your licks. Claude says that he covers a lot of this in his course “Killer Guitar Control Secrets”. Guitar TAB’s for this easy beginner lead guitar lesson as well as his course is available at GuitarControl.com.

A Pentatonic Scale is a musical scale with five notes per octave and is very common and found all over the world.
