Helsinki, Finland (PRWEB UK) 16 December 2014 -- Canatu has successfully completed installation of a roll-to-roll manufacturing line for manufacturing of continuous rolls of transparent conductive films based on Canatu’s proprietary material Carbon NanoBud® (CNB™ Films).
The first order produced with Canatu’s roll-to-roll equipment is supplied to an Asian touch module manufacturer for an industrial electronics product.
Canatu’s manufacturing method for the CNB Films is called Direct Dry Printing®. In the process Carbon NanoBud aerosol flow is conducted directly on to the flexible substrate to produce homogenous, un-patterned depositions of CNB Films. The rolls can be up to 600 mm wide and they are offered with sheet resistivities ranging from 75 ohm/square to hundreds of ohms/square. Substrate thicknesses are from 25µm upwards
Canatu’s CNB Film capacity will be incrementally increased during the year 2015 by adding new modules to the roll-to-roll production line based on the growing customer need.
“There is a growing interest towards flat, flexible, bendable and stretchable high contrast touch sensors. To satisfy this demand, we have now ramped up our roll-to-roll capabilities to produce CNB Film in high volumes,” says Risto Vuohelainen, CEO at Canatu. “We are also proud to announce our first customer order of the CNB Film produced with our new roll-to-roll manufacturing line,” continues Vuohelainen.
Canatu’s CNB Film provides superior optical performance for flat, flexible and formable touch screens, displays and touch-sensitive surfaces. CNB Films are used in capacitive and resistive touch sensors for portable devices such as mobile phones, tablets, digital cameras, wearable consumer devices, white goods, home appliances and automotive center consoles.
