Local Competitors Join Forces to Relaunch the National Capital Area Professional Pet Sitters Network
Arlington, VA (PRWEB) December 17, 2014 -- Rejecting the traditional model of “beating the competition” and instead, collaborating to elevate the industry, a group of competing local professional pet sitting business owners have banded together to form the National Capital Area Professional Pet Sitters Network (NCA Pet Sitters).
NCA Pet Sitters, formerly known as the Northern Virginia Professional Pet Sitters Network (NVPPSN), is a professional network of businesses dedicated to promoting excellence in the pet sitting industry in and around our Nation’s Capital. The network consists of over 40 member companies spanning from Middleburg to Alexandria in Virginia, Washington DC, and from Gaithersburg to Fort Washington in Maryland.
With a cooperative spirit in mind, NCA Pet Sitters was founded in 1998 and has increased its number of member companies over 100 percent in recent years. As the network continues to expand, leadership recently made several changes to keep up with increased demand and plan for the future. Through a complete rebranding campaign, including a new name, logo and website design, NCA Pet Sitters will serve as a trusted information and referral source for hundreds of thousands of pet owners in the metro DC area. The new website incorporates helpful features such as a zip code locator for a pet owner to easily locate a member company.
“We changed the name to encompass all of the metro DC area and to rebrand ourselves to reflect the changing landscape of the professional pet sitting industry,” said NCA Pet Sitters President-Elect Jenna Gotch. “This is a service that cannot be commoditized. All companies in the network share a common vision of educating their customers with best practices in the pet sitting industry. By working collectively, we share knowledge and resources in order to elevate the level of service and professionalism among our member companies, which ultimately benefits the end consumer.”
The NCA Pet Sitters network also supports local area pet rescue and humane education groups committed to bettering the lives of homeless animals in the Metro DC area. NCA Pet Sitters recently announced its upcoming supply drive for the Washington Humane Society (WHS) and volunteering as a group at the WHS shelter on January 24, 2015.
“The pet sitting industry has experienced tremendous growth in recent years and the need for professional pet care services is at an all-time high,” said Patti Moran, president of Pet Sitters International (PSI). “I applaud the members of the NCA Pet Sitters Network for working together for the good of the industry and sharing the same commitment to serve their customers and adhere to the standards created by PSI.”
