The Ivy Family Office Network hosted its December 2014 Family Office and Ultra High Net Worth Outlook Forum in Miami, FL on December 1st. Robert Reitzes, Portfolio Manager of Broad Arch Capital, led a panel discussion on “Alpha Generating Strategies”

Reitzes says “ The market will continue to change based on the particular needs of investors, but long-short equities will continue to offer investors the greatest opportunities to participate in growth while protecting them against sharp downdrafts in equities. Opportunities continue to change and new themes on the long and short side continue to occur and funds like our will be able to take of them.”

Moreover, “ This strategy is scalable and opportunities continually evolve. For example, financial stocks can move higher as interest rates increase. And there are several companies that have merged with other companies that could lead to significantly increased earnings.”

Other speakers on the panel included Michael Fox of Park City Capital, LLC, Oswaldo Lairet of Systemic Risk Averse Fund SPC, Ltd. and Pratik Sharma of Atyant Capital
