Second Chance of Florida Foundation to Host Awards Luncheon for Scholarship Finalists
Orlando, Florida (PRWEB) December 16, 2014 -- The Second Chance of Florida Foundation will host their annual awards luncheon on Thursday, December 18, from 12pm-1pm at the Umansky Law Firm located at 1945 E. Michigan Street, Orlando, Florida 32806. The luncheon is a rare opportunity to hear the selected students’ inspirational stories of why they need a second chance.
The annual $1000 scholarship will be given to high school seniors who have demonstrated academic excellence despite personal, economical and financial hardship. The winner must maintain an un-weighted GPA of over 3.0, be involved within their community and have suffered significant adversity in their life.
Orlando Attorney and Second Chance founder, William Umansky, has long been an advocate of providing second chances to those in need. While representing Juvenile clients, Mr. Umansky saw that despite good grades, many kids were not able to continue their education strictly because they lacked financial support. He recognized this as an opportunity to help students in his own community and set up the Second Chance Foundation to deliver the support they needed.
