Union Bank “Community Matters” Campaign Recognized with Two MarCom Industry Awards
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) December 16, 2014 -- The fourth season of Union Bank‘s Community Matters public service campaign has been honored with two marketing and communications industry awards -- a Gold MarCom Award for Excellence in Marketing-Corporate Image by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals and an International Davey Award (Silver) for Excellence in Cause Marketing by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA).
The winning campaign, which consists of three public service announcements (PSAs), was among a combined total of 10,000 entries worldwide. Produced in partnership with LINK Technologies, the PSAs feature the inspiring stories of community heroes -- men and women from the past and present who have made a meaningful contribution to improving the lives of others and paved the way for stronger, more vibrant communities. The PSAs underscore Union Bank’s commitment to inclusion, diversity and service and currently air on KCET in Los Angeles, KPBS in San Diego and KQED in San Francisco as part of the bank’s partnerships with the television stations. They can also be viewed on the Union Bank Community YouTube page.
“We are honored that our 2014 Community Matters videos have been recognized with two highly regarded industry awards,” said Union Bank Managing Director Pierre P. Habis, who heads Consumer, Business and Private Banking. “Through the videos, we are proud to highlight three inspirational stories featuring the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces to help celebrate our military heroes and illustrate our ongoing commitment to veterans.” Union Bank also recently supported Operation Christmas Drop, a tradition that started in 1952 that serves as a training mission for the United States Air Force.
The MarCom Awards honor excellence and recognize the creativity, hard work and generosity of global marketing and communication professionals and is perhaps the largest of its kind in the world with more than 6,000 entries per year. A look at the winners shows a range in size from individuals to media conglomerates and Fortune 50 companies. The Davey Awards is sanctioned and judged by the AIVA, a 600+ member organization of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media. Current AIVA membership represents a "Who's Who" of acclaimed global media, advertising, and marketing firms. With nearly 4,000 entries from across the United States and around the world, the Davey Awards honors the finest creative work from the best small firms, agencies and companies worldwide.
