Achieving GIPSA approval gives our customers peace-of-mind
Lawrence, MA (PRWEB) December 16, 2014
Charm Sciences, Inc. is pleased to announce that USDA-GIPSA (Grain Inspection, Packers & Stockyards Administration) has approved Charm Sciences’ ROSA DONQ2 Quantitative Test for the detection of 0.5 to 5 ppm DON (vomitoxin) in feed and grain.
The ROSA DONQ2 Quantitative Test uses the Charm Rapid One Step Assay (ROSA) lateral flow technology to quantitate DON in a simple, 2 minute assay using water as the extraction solvent.
“This has been a tough year for several states experiencing levels of DON higher than industry standards,” said Mark Tess, PhD, Mycotoxin Product Manager for Charm Sciences. “Many areas are seeing moderate to high levels of DON without evidence of head blight. Without this visual cue, it is more important than ever to have reliable, fast testing for DON. Achieving GIPSA approval gives our customers peace-of-mind.”
The Charm ROSA DONQ2 Quantitative Test is approved for the following 27 commodities:
Barley, Brewer’s Rice, Buckwheat, Corn, Corn Bran, Corn Germ Meal, Corn Gluten Feed, Corn Gluten Meal, Distillers Dried Grain with Solubles, Hominy, Malted Barley, Milled Rice, Oats, Palm Kernel Meal, Rapeseed Meal, Rice Bran, Rough Rice, Rye, Sorghum, Soybean Meal, Triticale, Wheat, Wheat Bran, Wheat Flour, Wheat Midds, Wheat Red Dog, and Wheat Screening.
