J.J. Schmidt Joins WellComp Managed Care Services to Lead New Product Development

Schmidt has joined the company as Senior Vice President, Managed Care. In this role, J.J. will focus on developing products to meet new and emerging needs of our clients. He will also lead WellComp’s efforts to continually improve processes to deliver the best possible results to clients. Most recently, JJ was instrumental in developing TeamComp™, WellComp’s sophisticated process that combines proprietary analytics and medical expertise to lower workers’ compensation claim costs and improve outcomes for injured workers.

Before joining York, J.J. has held several high level positions in managed care and vendor management with several national managed care organizations. Most recently he led a successful consulting firm where he advised clients on market strategies, operational efficiencies, and process improvement.
J.J. earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Catholic University of America and a Masters of Business Administration from St. Thomas University. He is currently a Ph.D. Candidate at Florida International University.
