A new study from Cambium of UK Energy Efficiency Suppliers indicates that the ESOS energy efficiency legislation for top 10,000 companies could fail for avoidable reasons
London, United Kingdom (PRWEB UK) 17 December 2014 -- The findings indicate that the UK still has time to make ESOS a success, provided:
• Government does more to publicise the ESOS scheme to the 10,000 Participants
• Energy efficiency solution providers communicate the right messages to the right ESOS participant executives.
• Executives from both ESOS Participants and energy efficiency
Suppliers actively collaborate to build more comprehensive business cases for investment that reflect the complete economic, environmental and societal benefits of investing in energy efficiency projects. Both Participants and Suppliers have a common interest in improving this dialogue to achieve these mutual benefits and thereby avoid the potential risk of more onerous regulation, should ESOS fail.
This new report "The Market Opportunities created by the UK Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS)", by industry supplier body the Energy Services and Technology Association (ESTA) and Sustainability experts, Cambium LLP (Cambium) summarises the findings of a survey carried out between 14th October 2014 and 16th November 2014 of UK energy efficiency (EE) technologies and services Suppliers.
The survey was open to all vendors of energy efficiency products and services (ESTA and Non-ESTA members). Data was collected from 80 respondents from suppliers spanning a wide range of technologies, turnover, and regional coverage.
The findings cover the dynamics of the new energy efficiency market created by ESOS and also the impact of ESOS on the energy efficiency supply chain. These findings are summarised on page 3.
Commenting on the Report, Robin Hale, Director of ESTA said, “All sides of the energy industry need to tackle the issue of boardroom apathy and to prove the advantages of a wider array of energy saving measures. This survey undertaken with Cambium who have great insights into market opportunities for organisations. We will be using the Cambium Research at our ESOS events for both consumers and service providers during 2015.”
Tony O’Donnell of Managing Partner at Cambium said: “We were delighted to work with ESTA on this survey. Their commitment to the project demonstrates that the UK energy efficiency supply chain is taking ESOS very seriously. Although ESOS will create challenges for Suppliers, for those with the leadership and organisational agility to meet the new elevated demands of the market, there are big opportunities. The recommendations made in the report will help Suppliers minimise these challenges, whilst maximising their success.”
The ESOS energy efficiency market is a market dynamic that cannot be ignored by energy efficiency suppliers. The full report is downloadable from Cambium LLPs website at http://www.cambiumllp.com/esos-supplier-survey-report/ contains recommendations and frameworks that energy efficiency Suppliers can use to solve any dilemmas about the ESOS market.
