Winner Announced in “$10,000 Prospectors Giveaway” Sweepstakes
(PRWEB) December 16, 2014 -- Jill Bond of San Diego, CA was announced as the grand prize winner of the “$10,000 Prospectors Giveaway” national sweepstakes, co-presented by Jewelry Television (JTV) and The Weather Channel. Bond’s name was drawn from a pool of entrants from around the nation. The sweepstakes was timed to correlate with the season three premiere of the original primetime series “Prospectors,” the popular show produced by High Noon Entertainment airing Sundays at 9p.m. EST on The Weather Channel.
The grand prize includes rare aquamarine and bixbite gemstones unearthed from the mountains of Colorado and Utah and valued at $5,000, along with $5,000 in cash. Bond was announced as the winner on Dec. 14.
“This has been a wonderful cross-promotional opportunity,” said Jill Johnson, vice president of marketing at JTV. “We recognized a crossover in viewership among the gem-passionate ‘Prospectors’ fan base and our JTV viewers. JTV’s mission is opening the world of jewelry and gemstones to everyone, and this was a fun way to encourage the mutual interests of JTV and The Weather Channel audiences.”
“Prospectors” follows a group of miners searching for the rarest gems in order to strike it rich. Season three marks the return of the original cast, along with a new family of miners, as they conspire on the mountains of Colorado to seek their fortunes. At 14,000 feet above sea level with 50 percent less oxygen, the prospectors brave extreme environmental elements such as close-call lightning strikes, hurricane-force winds and dramatic temperature changes. For those willing to confront the danger, some of the planet’s most rare and precious gems await, with huge paydays to accompany them.
“We were thrilled to partner with Jewelry Television on the Prospectors Giveaway,” said Lauren Frasca, senior director of original programming for The Weather Channel. “The sweepstakes gave our passionate ‘Prospectors’ fans an opportunity to engage with the series in a unique way and provided them a chance to take home an authentic piece of Mount Antero.”
Bond, a gemstone enthusiast and “Prospectors” fan, now has two rare gems to showcase, along with the cash prize. To learn more about future sweepstakes, program times, and incredible gems and jewelry, visit JTV at http://www.jtv.com/ and The Weather Channel at http://www.weather.com/tv.
