Companies hear a lot about the value of ‘Big Data’ these days, but the raw numbers aren’t worth much without proper evaluation
Arlington, VA (PRWEB) December 17, 2014
Capterra, an online service that helps businesses find the right software, today released a new infographic highlighting the “Top 20 Most Popular Business Intelligence Software.” The infographic is part of Capterra’s Top 20 Software research series, naming the 20 most popular solutions in each business software sector, and the first of its kind of focus on the Business Intelligence industry. SAP, Oracle, and Qlik take the top 3 spots.
Capterra determines its Top 20 rankings using a popularity index, which takes into account the number of customers or businesses that license the software, the number of individual users of the software at those businesses, and social media presence across six channels to assign a cumulative score. With the addition of Business Intelligence, Capterra has now indexed 22 software categories using this method.
Companies use Business Intelligence Software to draw insights from complex data sets, and it automates much of the analysis and reporting process.
“Companies hear a lot about the value of ‘Big Data’ these days, but the raw numbers aren’t worth much without proper evaluation,” said Capterra founder and CEO, Mike Ortner. “When you’re making important, strategic decisions in business, it’s essential that your assessment of the situation is backed up with facts. Software provides a great way to manage the bare numbers and draw out the important inferences.”
Other recent additions to this infographic series include Salon Management, Fleet Management, and School Administration.
Capterra updates its Top 20 software infographics multiple times per year to ensure they give an accurate depiction of the market.
