Best Western International, the World’s Biggest Hotel Family®, announced that Terrance ‘Terry’ J. Bichsel, owner of the BEST WESTERN Ocean View Resort in Seaside, Oregon, has been elected to serve a three-year term on the board of directors.
Bichsel, a certified hotel administrator, has owned the BEST WESTERN Ocean View Resort since 2002. Bichsel previously served as a regional governor for the brand as well as on the brand’s sales and marketing advisory committee. As a director, Bichsel will represent the interests of hotel owners in seven western states, including Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota, and Canada’s western provinces.
“Terry’s diverse career in the hospitality industry brings another unique perspective to our board, all of whom are hotel owners,” said Best Western President and CEO David Kong.
Bichsel has multiple hotel-brand experience and has held executive management positions for various hospitality industry leaders to include senior vice president/COO for John Q. Hammons Hotels, Inc., president-Parks & Resorts Division ARAMARK Corporation and senior vice president-worldwide for Holland America Cruise Line. In these capacities Mr. Bichsel has been responsible for strategy, marketing, acquisitions, divestures, profitability, and operations with more than 20 new hotel openings in his career.

Bichsel and wife Debbie reside in Issaquah, Wash. and Gearhart, Ore., and have three grown children: Shannon, Taryn and Blake. He is an avid sports enthusiast and enjoys most outdoor activities.
