SHREVEPORT-BOSSIER, LA (PRWEB) December 18, 2014
Group tour operators looking for a fun experience this Carnival season should make Shreveport-Bossier the place to party. Plan to attend the ultimate celebration, the 9th annual Mardi Gras Bash, a 2014 American Bus Association Top 100 Event, in downtown Shreveport. The party starts at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7 and is hosted by the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau.
Groups will enjoy this rockin’ tent party located along the route of one of the largest Mardi Gras parades in Louisiana. Inside the climate-controlled tent, visitors can savor authentic Louisiana cuisine, dance to Cajun tunes and mingle with charming Mardi Gras royalty from local krewes.
Mardi Gras Bash offers an exclusive, front row experience to the popular Krewe of Centaur Parade. Once the parade takes off along the Red River riverfront, groups can see brightly colored floats, marching bands, outrageous Mardi Gras personalities, and, of course, catch some beads, trinkets and other collectable krewe-branded items. Parade routes feature alcohol-free zones and plenty of excitement all-day long.
“Mardi Gras Bash is a wonderful and fun event, and our group enjoys all the benefits of the VIP tent party including the prime viewing spot on the parade route,” said Greg Windsor, historian and member of American Eagle HOG Chapter in Corinth, Texas. “Our group continues to return to Shreveport-Bossier every Carnival season because we appreciate the hospitality of the Tourist Bureau, casinos, local hotels and restaurants and the southern charm of the residents.”
Groups looking to add additional Mardi Gras experiences to their itineraries can take a behind-the-scenes tour at Julie Anne’s Bakery to taste authentic king cake, shop for Mardi Gras themed souvenirs and décor at Tubb’s Hardware and Rentals, tour the Krewe of Gemini Mardi Gras Museum or visit one of the six riverboat casinos.
Tickets are just $35 per person. For hotel rate information and more details, contact Erica Howard, group sales manager at the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau at 800-551-8682 ext.104 or ehoward(at)sbctb(dot)org.
