The Chrysler Foundation Awards $25,000 Grant to the SAE Foundation Canada to Support STEM Education
WARRENDALE, Pa. (PRWEB) December 18, 2014 -- The Chrysler Foundation has awarded $25,000 to the SAE Foundation Canada in support of its efforts to advance math and science education through the award winning A World In Motion® program, which helps ensure the technical competency of the future talent pool. The SAE Foundation Canada’s relentless pursuit of innovative, effective STEM education is made possible by corporations like Chrysler Group LLC—who value the technical competency of our future workforce. The Chrysler Foundation’s support will help inspire and educate over 1,000 elementary and middle school students by teaching them critical math and science concepts in a hands-on, interactive program while exposing and preparing them for the possibilities that exist in STEM-related careers.

Participating in AWIM teaches them to solve complex problems, communicate clearly, raise questions, assimilate information and work cooperatively toward common goals. SAE International’s A World In Motion® (AWIM) is a teacher-administered, industry volunteer-assisted program that brings science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education to life in the classroom for students in kindergarten through grade 12. Benchmarked to the national education standards, AWIM incorporates the laws of physics, motion, flight and electronics into age-appropriate hands on activities that reinforce classroom STEM curriculum.
