Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC) has received approval by Magellan Health, a healthcare management company, for its Behavioral Health Accreditation services. Magellan Health contracts with many states’ Medicaid programs and commercial payors to manage Behavioral Health programs. Magellan Health is active in several states, including but not limited to: Arizona, California, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Louisiana, and Florida.

After recent review, Magellan Health has determined that ACHC’s Behavioral Health Accreditation Standards and practices demonstrate the ability to meet the needs of behavioral health providers and service recipients. The ACHC Accreditation Standards were developed by industry leaders and are service recipient-focused, provider-friendly, and written for ease of understanding and incorporation into daily operations. Currently accrediting more than 12,300 locations across the U.S., ACHC offers nationally-recognized accreditation services for home health, hospice, private duty, sleep, pharmacy, and DMEPOS. The organization’s unique, consultative approach to accreditation is designed to improve the quality of service recipient care while enhancing business efficiencies through service-specific standards and industry based best practices.
Magellan Health acceptance accompanies the recent approval for ACHC’s Behavioral Health program by Optima Health of Virginia, Arizona State (for licensure), and United Healthcare/Optum.
