Yardley, PA (PRWEB) December 19, 2014
Global Traveler hosted its 11th annual GT Tested Reader Survey awards reception Monday, Dec. 15, at The Peninsula Beverly Hills. This is the fourth consecutive year the event has been held at The Peninsula Beverly Hills, named Best Individual Hotel in the United States in this year’s survey.
More than 200 guests gathered to congratulate the respected winners on their achievements. Guest of honor Michael Yo appeared on behalf of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Yo is a television host and comedian, appearing on Chelsea Lately, The Insider and The Talk.
Yo urged attendees to donate travel-related prizes to Global Traveler’s charity auction, benefitting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The auction kicks off March 1. Founded in 1949 and headquartered in White Plains, N.Y., LLS is the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services. Event sponsors included Incheon Airport, China Airlines and Westin. Raffles were held for five bottles of Dom Perignon (sponsored by China Airlines) and a Tamron camera lens.
In addition to the GT Tested Reader Survey awards and the Wines on the Wing winners, the 2014 Airline of the Year winner was honored. United Airlines celebrated the top achievement in 2014.
The event also honored inductees into GT’s Hall of Fame, celebrating those companies that won the same award for 10 years. Honorees included Air Canada, Incheon Airport and InterContinental Hotels Group IHG Rewards Club.

About the Survey
Global Traveler conducted an open-ended survey of its readers to determine the best in more than 70 travel-related categories. The survey was conducted from Jan. 1, 2013 to Aug. 31, 2013. Questionnaires were available in subscriber copies of the magazine, online and through direct mail and email. Only questionnaires with more than 50 percent of the questions answered were considered. An outside accounting firm, Citrin Cooperman LLP, tabulated the results. Employees of the magazine and members of the travel industry were barred from participation.
