Discovery and Migration Technology Now Supports Agentless, Auto-Provisioned Server Workload Migration into AWS Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) and AWS GovCloud (US)

ATADATA Solutions, an innovator in automated Infrastructure Discovery and Workload Migration, today announced its ability to support Agentless Auto-Provisioned workload migration directly into Amazon Web Services’ (AWS) Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) using REST API Auto-Provisioning. ATADATA also announced support for the AWS GovCloud (US) Region through its Agentless Automated Clone and Migration Engine (ATAmotion 4.0).

According to Amazon, the AWS GovCloud (US) is an isolated AWS Region designed to allow U.S. government agencies and customers to move sensitive workloads into the cloud by addressing specific regulatory requirements.

"By Auto-Provisioning workload migrations directly into AWS VPC and the AWS GovCloud (US) Region, we can amplify our technology lead within the AWS migration space," said Charles Wright, Chief Technology Officer for ATADATA. "We already have the fastest and most automated migration technology available, but the enterprise demands non-intrusive, secure, and rapid migrations into regulated, privately-networked environments.”

AWS VPC Auto-Provisioning is now fully integrated into ATADATA’s new user interface console, ATAmotion 4.0. Through the Console, ATADATA’s “Any to Any” agentless migration automation engine captures and clones the entire workload. The operating system, application stack, configuration, and associated database are all captured and cloned.

The Console automatically provisions a server instance within the AWS Cloud through REST API by applying the necessary tools, drivers, and the Amazon VPC networking configuration during the migration process. Once the migration is completed, the Console can routinely synchronize changes at the File and Database layer, between the source production machine and the new Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) instance prior to cut-over, all within the VPC.

Furthermore, ATAmotion 4.0 has added integrated support for multiple AWS VPC security features such as AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), which governs secure control of users and access to AWS resources. Another layer of support is the AWS Security Token Service (STS), which grants users with temporary, limited access to AWS resources. The final level of support is the ability to add instances to pre-defined Security Groups. These support features ensure that enterprise customers have granular control with the ability to maintain established security and compliance policies.
