Austin Company Digital Marketer Raises 100K to Fight Childhood Cancer
Austin, Texas (PRWEB) December 22, 2014 -- 7,178 small business owners and marketing professionals avoided the hustle and bustle of Black Friday shopping and opted instead to join Digital Marketer, an Austin, Texas based publishing and marketing education company, for their 5th annual “Black Friday Boot Camp”.
Digital Marketer charged just $7 to attend the 5 hour online training event and raised $50,000 in ticket sales that they promptly donated to support two Central Texas based charities dedicated to fighting childhood cancer.
Digital Marketer donated 100% of the $50,000 they raised in ticket sales and then matched it with a $50,000 donation of their own to reach their goal of donating $100,000 to charity. The donation was split 50/50 between San Antonio, TX based Jaxon’s FROG Foundation (jaxonsfrogfoundation.com) and Round Rock, TX based Battle For a Cure (battle4acure.org).
“This event is different from our typical business training. By providing tremendous value to our community at a low cost we are able to raise money and awareness for two great causes,” said Ryan Deiss, founder of Digital Marketer.
“We’ve worked with big charities like Make-A-Wish in the past and while we truly love and support their mission we wanted to do something different this year… The entire Digital Marketer team felt strongly about working with a ‘smaller’, local charity because we knew our donation would make a bigger impact on the both the charity and our local community. We got lucky and found two. I can’t think of two more deserving charities than Jaxon’s FROG Foundation and Battle for a Cure,” said Richard Lindner, President of Digital Marketer.
“I am not going to lie, I cried happy tears this morning. You have no idea how much this means to all of us, our fighting families included. There are so many gaps that need to be filled where our families are concerned. Their need is great, and while our organization might be considered small, with the help from people like you and your company, we are able to make a huge impact,” said Amanda Bartlett, Founder and President of Battle for a Cure Foundation.
“When Richard called me to tell me that Digital Marketer chose to match the funds, I was blown away by the generosity and couldn't even articulate into words our gratitude. We really appreciate this extremely generous donation, and it will have a tremendous impact on hundreds of kids battling for their lives,” said Lenzie Davis, President of Jaxon’s FROG Foundation.
Geoffrey Reemer, an enterpreneur from the Netherlands is a prime example, “I've decided to donate the difference between what I paid for this training, and what I think it's really worth to Jaxon's FROG Foundation. And I want to invite my fellow Digital Marketer members … to consider making an extra donation,” said Reemer.
