Oxford City Football Club, Inc. (OTCQB:OXFC) Confirms That They Have Come To Terms To Sell Their Major Arena Soccer Team In Beaumont, Texas To A Latin American Group
BEAUMONT, TEXAS (PRWEB) December 18, 2014 -- Oxford City Football Club, Inc. (OTCQB:OXFC) has announced that on Monday, December 15th they have successfully come to terms to sell their MASL team in the United States to a Latin American Group, making it the first minority and female owned professional team in the MASL.
CEO of Oxford City FC Thomas Anthony Guerriero stated, “We are proud that we have accomplished the successful turn around of the worst team, with the worst record in Professional Indoor Soccer history, into a team that is competing for the playoffs and the MASL Championship in our first year. We have several players this season who have scored more goals than all the previous years combined. We have spent a tremendous amount of time, money, and effort to bring awareness to the sport, while providing a new outlet of exciting entertainment to the city of Beaumont. The fans can clearly see the difference in every aspect of the team and how hard we worked to put this all together. We have set the foundation in place for this new ownership group to come in and be very successful from day one and for many years to come. With our professional team in Oxford, England doing so well in the Conference North and competing for promotion, our complete focus as an organization needs to be there.”
The new ownership group has entered into a licensing agreement with Oxford City FC to continue to use their name for this season. A spokesperson for the new ownership group stated, "We are grateful to Mr. Guerriero for giving us this opportunity. Entering into the ownership ranks in professional sports, is normally a difficult one for both minorities and women alike, but this transition process has gone very smooth. We are very excited about the opportunity and look forward to continue down this path to success in bringing an MASL Championship to Beaumont. Mr. Guerriero has done an extraordinary job in putting all the pieces in place. The team, the city of Beaumont, and the Golden Triangle are all better off for what was accomplished."
The Beaumont MASL team is the second professional soccer team to sell to a Latin American Group in recent weeks, the other being the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers of the NASL.
The MASL has a process for approving new ownership, which includes among other
things a background check and a member voting process for new ownership. All prospective ownership groups have to go through that process before any sale can be approved but all parties expect the smooth transition to continue throughout the process in changing over the ownership in the near term.

3) Oxford City Futsal is the Company's 1st professional indoor soccer team, which competes in the "Hellenic Premier League" of the English Football Association under the name Oxford City Futsal. The Premier League, and its member clubs, are collectively able to compete for the prestigious English FA Cup for Futsal, against some the best English Futsal teams for this championship trophy.
4) Oxford City FC of Texas is the Company's 2nd professional indoor soccer team was purchased in July 2014 and competes in the "MASL" of the Major Arena Soccer League in the United States under the name Oxford City FC of Texas. The MASL and its member clubs are collectively able to compete for the prestigious MASL Cup, against the best American teams for this championship trophy.
5) Oxford City FC Basketball is the Company's professional basketball team, which competes in the "EBL" of the English Basketball League under the name Oxford City Basketball. The EBL and its member clubs are collectively able to compete for the prestigious EBL Championship, competing against the best English Basketball teams for this championship trophy.
The Company has reserved the rights to the home territories of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Boca Raton/Delray Beach, Florida in the Major Arena Soccer League.
The Company owns and operates the Oxford City Broadcasting, which broadcasts Oxford City content online around the world. In the past, Oxford City Broadcasting has purchased airtime on 740AM in South Florida through Beasley Broadcasting to broadcast content on terrestrial radio. At this time, Oxford City Broadcasting plans to only broadcast online as the Company believes that the Internet is the best vehicle to reach listeners around the world.
The Company owns CIT University. CIT University has just completed the preparation of content for its first degree program, the Masters Degree in Sports Management. CIT University expects to partner with a regionally accredited institution to deliver the degree program globally online.
