WASHINGTON (PRWEB) December 18, 2014
The international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP has added Corporate & Securities Shareholder Seung-Ho Choe to expand its Korea Practice. He will reside in the firm’s Seoul and Washington, D.C. offices. Prior to joining Greenberg Traurig, Choe was of counsel at Locke Lord in Washington, D.C. There, he represented, among other matters, Korean utilities in high-profile transactions in the United States and Australia. He was also a partner in one of the leading law firms in Korea, where he handled a number of landmark M&A deals, including the merger of one of the largest theater chains in Korea and the sale of a major Korean automaker. Additionally, Choe was chief investment officer for a $1 billion private equity fund in Korea.
"We are excited to have a talented lawyer such as Seung-Ho join Greenberg Traurig,” said Richard Edlin, a chair of the firm’s regional operations in Asia. “Seung-Ho’s background and extensive experience working in Korea will expand our transactional capabilities and add great depth to our Korean and overall Asian practices.”
“Greenberg Traurig is dedicated to hiring attorneys on the ground, in the locations where clients need us most,” said Chang Joo Kim, Seoul managing shareholder. “The addition of Seung-Ho complements the firm’s growing Korea Practice and highlights our commitment of hiring top-tier attorneys to adapt to the legal needs of our clients.”
“We are pleased that Seung-Ho has joined our office,” said Laura Klaus, Washington, D.C. managing shareholder. “This strategic hire is part of our continued effort to grow and fortify our Washington, D.C. practice base which will better serve our clients nationally and internationally.”
Choe will focus his practice on corporate and securities, mergers and acquisitions, finance and banking, cross-border transactions, foreign investments, and project finance (including public-private partnerships, aircraft, and ship financing), as well as power and energy, real estate, and asset-backed securitization matters. He has more than 25 years of experience representing clients from Asia, Europe, and the Americas in corporate and securities, mergers and acquisitions, and finance and banking matters. Choe holds a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and a B.S., magna cum laude, from the University of Maryland.
