Growing Number of Organizations Partner with Pearson for Professional Training and Development Services

Online and Blended Learning Initiatives Designed to Improve Business Results and Employee Outcomes

Continuing education, professional certification and training opportunities help to improve organizational effectiveness. In an effort to increase access to quality professional training and development programs that help to improve business results and employee outcomes, a growing number of organizations have partnered with Pearson this year to launch online and blended learning initiatives. These include the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), and the World Institute of Nuclear Security (WINS).

Serving more than 71,000 members, AHIMA is recognized as the leading source of "Health Information Management (HIM) knowledge," a respected authority for rigorous professional education and training. The organization selected Pearson as their learning provider to increase access to online educational opportunities for HIM professionals. In the sporting world, the LPGA partnered with Pearson to launch a self-paced, online course to provide golf professionals with the educational tools they need improve the training process for women.

The World Institute of Nuclear Security provides an international forum for those accountable for nuclear security to share and promote the implementation of best security practices. Through its partnership with Pearson, WINS has launched a testing program which consists of nine self-paced, training course modules for delivery in an online format. The online program will enable enable over 20,000 trained professionals per year to earn certificates that will help them to demonstrate their competence to potential employers.

Dr. Roger Howsley, Executive Director of the WINS Academy, said, “This new partnership with Pearson and Pearson VUE will for the first time offer tens of thousands of professionals in the nuclear industry the opportunity to prove they have the crucial knowledge of how to safely handle radioactive materials.”

To further demonstrate its commitment to better prepare training professionals, Pearson recently partnered with Training Industry, the global resource for training professionals responsible for improving organizational performance, to launch a blended learning training certification program focusing on the training leader’s role, along with the business skills needed to efficiently and effectively manage performance improvement. The Certified Professional in Training Management (CPTM) program is specifically designed to establish an internationally-accepted level of knowledge, education and experience by which training leaders will be recognized within the learning and development community.
