The 13th Annual Twin Cities DI Day Now On Video
(PRWEB) December 20, 2014 -- The Twin Cities DI Day is recognized as the premier income protection education event in the nation! Over 250 financial professionals come together each year to hear up to the minute information on the industry, get motivated to protect their clients and to be inspired by stories of real people facing and overcoming the challenges of disability.
On September 23rd, 2014, financial professionals from all across the nation came together to attend The 13th Annual Twin Cities DI Day where they were presented with an opportunity to network with many industry sponsors. These firms support Twin Cities DI Day both financially and by inviting their clients to attend. Many of the sponsors offer exclusive events and opportunities related to the Twin Cities DI Day. Tickets for the event included continental breakfast, lunch and non-company sponsored CE/CFP credits: MN, SD and WI were approved for 5 hours of CE, ND and IA were approved for 3 hours of CE, and 4 hours of CFP was approved nationwide. Credits were approved by the state based on the agenda the speaker presentation outlined.
For the first time, Secura Consultants recruited videographer, Eyetography, to record presentations that took place throughout the day. The speakers ranged from industry experts, sales coaches, and even people who have had to deal with disability claims first hand and gave their breathtaking accounts of the events that got them where they are today. Below are just a few of the speakers at The 13th Annual Twin Cities DI Day.
Carol Harnett has been the President of The Council for Disability Awareness (“CDA”) since July 9th, 2014. She began her career as a clinical physiologist and has first-hand experience in training a range of people from elite athletes to pregnant women to injured workers. Carol serves on the Executive Committee and Board of Disabled Sports USA, and actively participates in DSUSA’s Warfighter Sports program. As CDA’s President, Carol continues to expand the organization’s positive impact on employees, human resource professionals, insurance agents, brokers, benefit consultants and financial planners.
Jason Gerling was an aspiring drummer with a promising future. In 1994, Jason fell asleep at the wheel of his car. When he woke up, along with a decompress skull fracture, a concussion, and short-term memory loss, Jason became a C6/C7 incomplete quadriplegic. Jason had to invent an entirely new way of playing the drums that didn’t require him to use his feet. By 2004, Jason was once again a professional drummer, and realized his unique position as a disabled drummer allowed him to do something much more powerful than just play music: he could inspire others.
Scott Burrows was a college football player at Florida State University. In 1984, Scott was involved in a serious automobile accident that left him paralyzed from the chest down and diagnosed a quadriplegic. Despite the grim diagnosis, Scott entered the insurance industry and qualified for the Million Dollar Round Table, an award achieved by fewer than 8% of insurance agents worldwide. He became a wheelchair athlete and best-selling author with his book, Vision Mindset Grit: How to Stand Up When Life Paralyzes You.
