. We’re in Henderson to provide a low-cost way to attract customers to local small businesses and keep more of consumers' hard-earned money in the community.

Only weeks following the announcement that Henderson, Nevada beat out several southern and mid-western cities to have a battery manufacturer create 29 well-paying jobs in Mojave desert community, TalkLocal (http://www.talklocal.com) is launching in Henderson to deliver yet another win for the local economy.

“A strong manufacturing sector is going to build a stronger middle class in Henderson,” TalkLocal founder Gurpreet Singh explained, “and TalkLocal works with small businesses that rely on middle class consumers. We’re in Henderson to provide a low-cost way to attract customers to local small businesses and keep more of consumers' hard-earned money in the community.”

Before creating TalkLocal, Gurpreet Singh was a computer repair business owner who had spent tens of thousands of dollars on traditional and digital marketing over the years, yet still experienced difficulty connecting with the right local consumers. At the time, there was simply no way to connect only to consumers who matched his company’s availability and location, or even make sure they needed computer repair and not a custom built computer, for example. Consumers too needed a faster way to filter out companies that were poor quality, too far away, or not available when the consumer needed them.

So, with the help of Manpreet Singh and Amandeep Bakshi, Gurpreet created TalkLocal - a digital concierge service. TalkLocal matches consumers to the right local pros based on…
-Location
-Consumer need
-Availability
-Quality indicators (online consumer reviews, call analytics, social media interactions, etc)

Consumers simply visit the website, enter their needs, and stand by to hear from a pro who knows the problem and can help on the consumer’s schedule. Consumers and businesses are connected by phone in about 90 seconds- that’s at least 50x faster than alternatives.

Free to consumers, the service only charge member businesses a small flat rate per conversation following a free lead preview where they decide whether or not to take the call.

Plus, TalkLocal connects consumers through a secure line and won’t sell or share their contact information.

Launching in late 2012 and raising $4m in funding to date, TalkLocal has sent over one-million phone calls to local businesses, connecting consumers and businesses in 46 categories including auto-repair, HVAC, plumbing, and dentistry. With offices in DC, San Francisco, and now College Park Maryland, the startup has launched in over 50 major cities and served people and businesses in 49 states.
