Timex, the leader in outdoor and sports performance timepieces, announced today that elite U.S. distance runners Leo Manzano and Molly Huddle will join forces with the iconic watch brand as athlete ambassadors.

Manzano, the 2012 Olympic silver medallist in the 1500m, and Huddle, a 2012 U.S. Olympian, will be integrated into all aspects of the brand’s marketing efforts including advertising, PR and social media programs, and product development and testing.

“We are committed to growing the Timex IRONMAN brand to its maximum potential and this partnership will help us to continue do so,” said Sam Martin, Brand Director, Timex Sport & Outdoor. “By working with these elite runners, we continue to show our dedication to runners everywhere and their improvement each and every day.

The TIMEX® IRONMAN® brand continues to support all runners, from beginners to professionals, who represent the commitment and passion of the sport and its athletes.

“Timex is an authentic training partner for runners of all levels,” said Leo Manzano. “I know I can count on Timex products to enhance my training, and I am thrilled to be an ambassador for the brand.”

Manzano won nine Texas 4A state championships while in high school and furthered his career by competing at University of Texas in Austin. After competing in the 2008 Olympics and winning the U.S. Olympic trial in 2012, Manzano went on to win the silver medal in London – the first American medal of any kind in the event since 1968. Manzano is also the 2014 USA Track & Field Outdoor Champion of the 1500m event.

“Timex shares my passion for running and I know their support will be unparalleled and a key to my success,” said Molly Huddle.

Huddle, the American Record Holder for the 5000m and 2012 Olympic finalist, began running cross country as a senior in high school and continued at the University of Notre Dame where she received ten All-America honors. In 2014, Huddle became the first ever American woman to claim four national road running titles in one year. This year, she also ran the world-leading time for 5000m indoors, ran the fastest half-marathon by an American woman, and ran the second-fastest mile in the world.
