Dogs Get Fit and Lean in 2015 with Morris Animal Inn’s Canine Cardio Fitness and Weight Loss Camp
(PRWEB) December 23, 2014 -- Getting fit, losing weight and reducing stress are always popular New Year’s resolutions for people, and now Morris Animal Inn is making sure committed canines have the same opportunity to get healthy. Pet obesity is on the rise in the United States and the luxury pet spa and resort is helping dogs jump start a more active lifestyle with its Canine Cardio Fitness Doggie Day Camp.
Canine Cardio Fitness Camp will be offered from January 12 – January 16 and is designed to keep dogs active, stimulated and stress-free with treadmill trots, swim sessions in the indoor aqua center, Doga—yoga for dogs—pampering massages, homemade treats, and more.
Pet obesity in the United States has reached epidemic proportions, with more than half of all dogs and cats classified as overweight or obese, according to the Association for Pet Obesity Prevention. An estimated 43 million dogs tip the scales as overweight or obese, conditions that can contribute to serious health problems for canines.
“The New Year is a great time for all of us—including our four-legged family members—to make positive changes and lead healthier lifestyles,” said Joanne Morris, vice president of the Morris Animal Inn. “Keeping dogs active and mentally stimulated are keys to good canine health. Our camp combines fitness activities with pampering so it is more of an active spa retreat than a canine boot camp. We want our four-legged guests to come away refreshed, rejuvenated and ready to start the New Year with a fitness routine.”
Program offerings will be individually tailored to meet the particular needs of each dog, with some sessions offered one-on-one and others offered in a group setting.
HIGHLIGHTS OF CANINE CARDIO RESOLUTIONS CAMP WILL INCLUDE:
Treadmill Trots Downward Dog “Doga”
Swim Sessions Pampering Massage
Nature Trail Runs Nutritious, low-calorie treats
