Top Security Instructors from Around the World Attend First Train the Trainer Event for Cisco’s Securing Cisco Networks with Threat Detection and Analysis (SCYBER) Course
Austin, Texas (PRWEB) December 23, 2014 -- A total of eleven experienced technical security instructors came from all corners of the globe to participate in the first ever Train the Trainer event for Cisco’s groundbreaking new security course, Securing Cisco Networks with Threat Detection Analysis (SCYBER) last week in Austin, Texas.
The SCYBER curriculum, available now from Logical Operations, is a five-day instructor-led course which prepares students to take the Securing Cisco Networks with Threat Detection and Analysis (SCYBER) exam and to hit the ground running with a Cisco Cybersecurity Specialist certification. Combining a mix of instruction time and hands-on labs, SCYBER ensures that students are able to successfully understand cybersecurity concepts and to recognize specific threats and attacks on their organizations’ networks.
As part of the Train the Trainer event, instructors spent a significant amount of time operating within the lab environment, where they gained a better understanding of how SCYBER utilizes labs to reinforce course content and learned how to effectively teach SCYBER. Instructors who attended the SCYBER Train the Trainer event and have passed the SCYBER exam are now among the first in the world who are eligible to teach SCYBER and take advantage of this global cybersecurity training initiative.
Stacey McBrine, a technical instructor who attended the SCYBER Train the Trainer, states “SCYBER is the course every network defender should be taking. It provides real world skills and tools to monitor, detect, analyze, and mitigate potential threats. The close interaction with the course author and other experienced instructors at the Train the Trainer event added depth to the learning that would have been missing in other delivery modalities. I feel I received the best possible preparation for the delivery of the SCYBER course.”
“The training event was outstanding and the excitement and quality of the instructor feedback exceeded Cisco's expectations,” said James Risler, Manager Security Content Development, Learning@Cisco.
