Weleski Transfer Turns Moving Van Into Giant Sleigh
Tarentum, PA (PRWEB) December 23, 2014 -- Christmas is a little brighter for area children this year, thanks to a community-wide effort to support the Marine Corps’ annual Toys for Tots campaign. Taking a cue from Santa himself, Atlas Agent Weleski Transfer of Tarentum, PA brought a moving van and crew of elves to ensure donated toys arrived “in the nick of time.”
Local radio station KISS 96.1 and morning hosts Mikey and Bob emceed the marathon “Stuff-A-Bus” event, airing remote broadcasts on location during five days in early December. People from throughout the area brought in their donations of new, unopened toys, and volunteers loaded these into school buses. Weleski Transfer provided a major assist by moving hundreds of toys from Branding Brand, a software company in Pittsburgh, to the Monroeville Mall.
At the mall, local volunteers loaded the toys into buses for transport to the Toys for Tots distribution center and ultimately into the hands of worthy families and children. The effort filled a total of 45 buses from floor to ceiling — three more buses than last year’s event.
“Every family, every child deserves to be happy, especially at this time of year,” says Lauren Weleski Swigart. “A new toy may seem like a little thing, but it can be really important to a child on Christmas. We’re thankful for the opportunity to help bring some joy to little ones in our community.”
