Zenni Optical Invites Entries to its Poetry Scholarship Competition
Novato, CA (PRWEB) December 23, 2014 -- For many kids, getting that first pair of glasses is a rite of passage. Now, high school seniors and college students can share their memories of growing up with glasses and earn money for college at the same time. Zenni Optical is proud to announce its first Poetry Scholarship Contest and will award scholarships of $3,000, $2,000 and $1,000 to contest winners.
Contest entrants are asked to compose a poem of 250 words or less on the topic of “Growing up with Glasses: The Formative Four-Eyed Years.” Zenni’s judges will evaluate entrant’s poems, along with their GPAs and letters of reference, and award a $3,000 scholarship to the first prize winner. The second and third prize winners will receive $2,000 and $1,000 respectively.

All poetry styles will be considered, though entrants are asked to keep their entries clean and free from “creative” spelling or grammar. In addition, all submitted poems should be original work that have not been published before. Entrants must be seniors at U.S. high schools or students at accredited colleges or universities in the United States.
