New Story Fund Will Award $50,000 to Families in Pennsylvania in 2015
Wyoming, Pennsylvania (PRWEB) December 30, 2014 -- New Story is accepting applications for the 2015 New Story Fund from January 5 through January 26, 2015, at http://www.NewStory.com. The New Story Fund distributes $50,000 annually in the form of awards to families in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Families can be nominated for an award of up to $1,500 each year.
The New Story Fund is designed to help children and families who are faced with the following challenges: autism spectrum disorder (ASD), serious emotional disturbances, intellectual disabilities or other developmental disabilities. The New Story Fund helps families that do not have the funds to access products and services needed to best support their children. Examples include: durable medical equipment, therapy services, prescriptions, after-school care, home/safety modifications, among many others.
New Story created the New Story Fund to reinforce its commitment to the communities in which it serves. Members of the community are encouraged to submit an application for themselves, or to nominate an individual or family in need. Nominees must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the New Story Fund:
• Nominee must be a legal resident of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
• The nominee must be between the ages of birth and 21.
• Nominee must be faced with one (or more) or the following challenges: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), serious emotional disturbances, intellectual disability or other developmental disability.
• The nomination application must be completed in its entirety, including why the nominee needs help from New Story and specifically what will be purchased with the fund. Examples include durable medical equipment, therapy services, prescriptions, after-school care, among many others.
• If the cost of the product/service being requested exceeds the amount granted from the Fund then the nominator will be required to provide documentation to cover the remaining cost of the product/service.
• Nominators or nominees do not need to be enrolled in New Story schools or New Story services.
• Applicants may not be employees or affiliates of New Story.
• Each applicant can be granted up to $1,500.
