MonaVie Pre-launched in China on Monday, December 22

After years of prep work, MonaVie is taking the first step toward officially launching in China, one of the largest direct selling markets in the world. The company's pre-launch period in China will last until it fully launches in April 2015.

MonaVie started conducting limited business operations in China on December 22, 2014, with a pre-launch phase. MonaVie Chief Financial Officer James Marsh and Dan Zhu, president of MonaVie's Asia Pacific region, attended a ribbon-cutting celebration at MonaVie's new Shanghai administration office on Monday, December 22, 2014. The ribbon-cutting marked the official opening of MonaVie's first office in the country and officially kicked off the pre-launch period in China!

“For years now we have been exploring the opportunity to enter China, which can quite possibly become the largest direct selling market in the world,” Zhu said. “Plus, one of the fastest-growing segments of our global distributor family is among our ethnic-Chinese distributors who have ties to China.”

During the pre-launch period, China entrepreneurs and consumers will be able to start ordering a variety of MonaVie products, including the company's original flagship MonaVie juice product, and they can start sharing the products with others.

Along with its administration office in Shanghai, MonaVie also opened an office in Guangzhou. The company has plans to open an office in China's capital city of Beijing in April 2015.

MonaVie has been laying the groundwork for the last couple of years to open in this market and it is thrilled at this chance to operate in the land of the Red of Dragon. According to data from the World Federation of Direct Selling Associations (WFDSA), China is currently ranked as the No. 2 market in the entire direct selling industry, with sales totaling US$27.3 billion. If current rates of growth continue, China could surpass the U.S. to become the top direct selling market in the next year or two.

Marsh added, “We are excited about the opportunity to offer our products to the people of China. Direct sales of nutritional and personal care products are booming in the world’s most populous country. We have increased our resources dedicated to opening China and continue to march toward full launch."

MonaVie's official target date for full launch in China is on April 5, 2015.
