To celebrate their achievements and to honor those who worked hard to make them happen, the company held their annual Year-End Holiday Awards Party on December 6, 2014 at the Oakmont Country Club in Glendale, California. Over 300 Montrose Travel associates and guests enjoyed great food, entertainment, camaraderie, and an inspiring year-end video. The evening provided the perfect setting for awarding and recognizing the individuals and businesses that collectively helped Montrose Travel become the success story it is today.
Montrose Travel works with a great number of partners and each year recognizes those who have gone above and beyond to nurture the commitment to their mutual success. These highly anticipated Business and Supplier Partners of the Year awards applaud the businesses that most greatly help Montrose Travel operate and serve at the highest standard.
There were a total of 42 companies across 5 categories considered for the 2014 Partners of the Year Awards. Two were selected.
The title of 2014 Business Partner of the Year was awarded to Wells Fargo. “It’s like doing business the old fashioned way – with a handshake. It’s really nice when you can look at the person sitting across from you and know there’s a commitment that is more than business; it’s personal,” explained Montrose Travel’s President, Joe McClure. “It makes you work that much harder – not because you have to, but because you want to. And in business, there’s no better reason than that.” There to accept the award for Wells Fargo was their Senior Vice President of Rewards and Offers Management, Sarah Phelps.
Montrose Travel’s next award went to Delta Air Lines, named the 2014 Supplier Partner of the Year. “When we have questions, they empower their local team to make decisions,” said McClure. “When needed, they fly out to meet with us. They don’t just hand us an agreement and say ‘take it or leave it,’ they listen to us and make changes to our mutual benefit, something that rarely happens between an airline and an agency. In fact, it’s so rare, an airline has never won this award until tonight.” Sr. Sales Manager for Delta Air Lines, Steve Jones, accepted the award.
“While support is clearly a key component when selecting our partner winners, respect and friendship are of equal, if not greater importance,” explained McClure. “Not only have both Wells Fargo and Delta Air Lines proven to be strong partners, we've more importantly become personal friends with many people within their great organizations.”
The evening concluded with cocktails and dancing – a celebration of the hard work and effort that went into making 2014 a successful year. Longtime friends and associates enjoyed each other’s company while new relationships, both business and personal, were formed.
