Carolina Meadows Tops Triangle Business Journal’s List of Continuing Care Retirement Communities
Chapel Hill, NC (PRWEB) December 30, 2014 -- Chapel Hill’s Carolina Meadows has been named the Triangle’s largest continuing care retirement community by the Triangle Business Journal, based on total number of residents.
Carolina Meadows earned the top spot with a resident count of 708, an increase of 46 residents since 2013, when the community also earned a No. 1 ranking from the Triangle Business Journal. Each year, the business publication ranks the area’s top performers in a cross section of business categories, including banks, law firms, hospitals and software developers.
“We feel our high resident count is directly a result of the features and amenities that were designed into Carolina Meadows from the very beginning,” said Melissa Kass, vice president of sales and marketing at the facility. “Our residents tend to be very active, and the sports and aquatics center and walking-friendly campus are supportive of continued health and wellness. We’ve also had many residents tell us their deciding factor was our Equity Advantage program, which is unique to Carolina Meadows. With Equity Advantage™, a resident’s equity in his or her home is returned should they leave Carolina Meadows.”
Located a few miles south of the main campus of the University of North Carolina, Carolina Meadows is renowned for offering customizable villas and apartments as well as a resident experience rich in social interaction and opportunities for continuing education.
Residents have expressed appreciation for the diverse activities that occur each month, including lectures on topical events, dances, fitness programs, varied dining and on-site musical performances. In addition – thanks to the community’s proximity to the Triangle area’s multiple cultural, educational and arts institutions – residents can easily take advantage of the many events that occur near the Carolina Meadows campus.
In a recent survey by senior living research firm Holleran, Carolina Meadows was ranked in the 90th percentile nationwide for customer satisfaction, based on factors such as value for price paid, long-term confidence in the business’s viability and likelihood to be recommended to family or friends.
The community continues to improve upon its facilities and services, implementing new programs and upgrades every year. In the spring of 2015, the latest upgrade — a renovation of the Carolina Meadows dining area — is due for completion.
