CenterLight Health System Unveils Its Inaugural Community Benefit Report Detailing Its Strong Ties with Local Communities
Bronx, N.Y. (PRWEB) December 30, 2014 -- CenterLight Health System celebrated its impact on nine counties across New York State today, as its leadership unveiled the system’s first ever Community Benefit Report, highlighting CenterLight’s contributions in 2014. CenterLight intends to make the report annual.
Caring for New Yorkers since 1920, CenterLight is one of the largest long-term care service providers in New York State and has served as a major economic force and true partner for local communities. All of its healthcare services share a singular focus: to improve the quality of patients' lives each day. Beyond investing in the health of its patients, CenterLight also actively supports the health and vibrancy of the neighborhoods its members and patients call home. It does so through partnerships with local organizations, community events and educational opportunities.
The Community Benefit Report captures how CenterLight impacts the local communities it serves through the quality care, community building, innovation, and advocacy it provides. Highlights from the 2014 Report include:
• CenterLight’s unique collaboration with the Dance Theatre of Harlem providing innovative dance, movement, and balance classes for seniors.
• “Closing the Digital Divide” for seniors; a 10-week technology training class offered in conjunction with Older Adult Technology Services in Brooklyn.
• A farm-to-table partnership with Homecoming Farm and Florian Foods in Suffolk County, which provides opportunities for our members to farm, as well as access to organic produce and nutrition education.
