Sourceclear Launches With Impressive Advisory Board And Promising Product Roadmap
Seattle, Washington (PRWEB) February 04, 2014 -- SEATTLE– February 4, 2014 – SourceClear, a company dedicated to building security tools for software developers launched today with an impressive Advisory Board of industry heavy hitters and revealed a promising product roadmap. SourceClear’s team has been behind some of the most influential security projects, best selling security tools and widely published books. Today, they’re changing the game for developers by enabling them to design and implement security whilst they build their applications without the friction and pain associated with traditional security tools.
Mark Curphey, CEO and Founder of SourceClear and the original founder of the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) simply says “Software security is too complicated and nothing has really changed for a decade – it’s time to simplify and disrupt the game. Our platform and products work like traction control for developers, giving them the right information when they need it and stay out of their way when they don’t. Our Trusted Component Manager (currently in private beta) is like a product recall system for insecure components like libraries and frameworks and our Secure Coding Rules allow companies to synchronize digital secure coding policies directly with developers code editors and for important guidance to appear in “real-time” when developers need it.”
Curphey has assembled a world-class advisory board with members that read like the who’s who list of security veterans. They include:
o George Kurtz, President and CEO, CrowdStrike and former world-wide CTO of McAfee
o John Viega, EVP of Technology, SilverSky Security and author of a dozen books on software security
o Justin Somaini, Chief Trust Officer, Box.com and former CSO at Yahoo!
o Dave Cole, VP of Products, CrowdStrike and former VP of Product Management at Symantec
o Charlie Claxton, VP of Creative Strategy, Produxs, a user experience expert
o Siobhan MacDermott, CEO and Founder, Takatech and former Chief Policy Officer at AVG Technologies
“The SourceClear vision for a connected social platform that gets developers the security information they need, when they need it, is long overdue,” said George Kurtz. Industry veteran and author, John Viega, added “SourceClear’s approach is so simple and effective, that the entire security industry should kick itself.”
“Our new advisory board members have a range of expertise in security, software development, product development, user experience, public relations and privacy”, added Curphey. “Their combined experience includes guiding many public and privately-held companies to profitable growth, which will be valuable to SourceClear as we continue our growth and forward momentum.”
SourceClear is privately funded by Silicon Valley angel investors that previously seed funded NetScreen, SourceFire, InfoBlox and MobileIron and are currently raising a private seed round.
