My website offers much more than the typical online blog setup guides out there.

Build Your Own Blog offers a free online guide for new bloggers who have no technical experience at buildyourownblog.net. Easy-to-follow instructions together with accessible customer support provided.

Build Your Own Blog was started by media copywriter Matthew “Kaboomis” Loomis, who noticed there were many people wanting to blog yet would never start because they were intimidated by the technical side of the internet.

Loomis could relate to this, as he initially did not have a background in website design or development. It wasn’t until he discovered a popular blog service called WordPress that he began to see how easily anyone could start a blog. Over time he learned how user friendly WordPress is for people who don’t know how to write code.

Last summer he began creating a blog setup guide that anyone able to read at a fifth grade level could understand. No technical experience necessary.

“I also wanted to not only offer a blog set up guide, but I also wanted to provide useful information on various aspects of blogging—helpful tips for people to use after the blog is up. That way people can not only start a blog, but build a sustainable one with a growing audience,” says Loomis, “in other words, I want to help people finish strong, not just start and then leave them hanging.”

“My website offers much more than the typical online blog setup guides out there. First, I personally answer every email that comes in. People are naturally going to have questions, so emails help me listen to what people need. I normally reply back to them by the next day. Sometimes people can talk with me directly through the instant message chat tool on the website.”

“I also provide articles for people to learn blogging tips—useful information that folks can immediately apply to their own blogs. Then I’ll occasionally mix in a fun, motivational piece to encourage new bloggers. And I offer blog tips by emails that cover information not on the website.”

The setup guide includes 7 steps. The first four steps cover the blog setup: choosing a domain name, web hosting and setting up WordPress while the final three steps apply to your blog development. The final steps cover topics like “how to write magnetic articles,” “marketing your blog” and “earning income through blogging.”

So far some of the articles now available on the blog cover topics such as building an email list, using keywords, logo design, analytics, and writing tips.
