SpiderTech Inc. the Canadian-based home of the world’s most innovative elastic therapeutic tape is proud to announce the sponsorship of The Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer event benefiting the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and the formation of Team SpiderTech; a group of company and individual cyclists - 140 strong who’ve raised an additional $244,000 to date.
SpiderTech pre-cut elastic sports tape also known as kinesiology tape or therapeutic tape has been widely trusted by professional athletes, elite trainers, and medical professionals for fast, targeted, drug-free relief and further injury prevention. Now the SpiderTech tape is making the tape available for all 5,000 riders who are travelling 200 km over a two-day cycling event to raise money and awareness for Cancer Research. Committed to the cause, SpiderTech created its own team and invited others to join in resulting in over 140 team members raising an additional $244,000 for cancer research.
“We’re proud to support The Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer event this coming June 7-8 in Toronto and all the event stands for; cancer research, community, caring, humanity, determination, and the celebration of life. We are also incredibly proud of our team of riders that have come together to raise nearly $250,000 for cancer research so far on our way towards our goal of $430,000. We really wanted to do more for the cause, so it’s incredible to see people come together and achieve great things like this,” says Darren Contardo, VP Marketing, SpiderTech.
SpiderTech tape is fast and easy to apply thanks to the unique pre-cut design and numbered application system. Plus, the tape is designed to integrate with the body in a functional manner by mimicking the elasticity and thickness of human skin, allowing it to do its job without affecting healthy ranges of motion unlike standard white athletic tape – making an ideal therapeutic tool for the riders over the 200 km two-day event.
“We were thrilled when SpiderTech joined the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer as a partner for the 2014 Ride. From the start, SpiderTech understood the importance of having a strong presence in the Rides’ integrated marketing programs, both throughout the year and on Ride weekend June 7 & 8. They have activated with a strong sponsorship role and have developed one of the Rides top teams, Team Spidertech. For a first year team, achieving the status of a top fundraising team is outstanding and speaks to the strength of the brand, their marketing strategy and leadership. We are excited to roll out the Spidertech Performance Zone where riders can be treated with SpiderTech Pre-Cut Elastic Sports Tape, to get them back on the road! We want to thank SpiderTech for their outstanding integrated partnership as fundraisers, for bringing brand value to our riders and for the yearlong marketing support and involvement. The Ride is all about communities coming together to conquer cancer; SpiderTech gets this as people and as a brand,” says Denise Dorfman, Director, the Ride to Conquer Cancer.
