Major updates from Canto allow Cumulus 9.1 to speed creative workflows and empower Digital Asset Management (DAM) experts with better tools than ever.

Video editors, designers and graphic artists can create imagery faster with the Adobe Drive Adapter for Cumulus

Canto, a leading provider of digital asset management software and professional services, today announced the general availability of Cumulus 9.1. The new Cumulus version gives customers the ability to browse and search digital assets directly from Adobe Creative Cloud™, so video editors, designers and graphic layout artists can create visual imagery faster than ever.

The Adobe Drive Adapter for Cumulus allows customers to search digital assets managed by Cumulus from within InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro and After Effects, so Creatives can spend more time producing digital content, and less time searching, downloading, uploading, linking and relinking files.

Cumulus 9.1 also adds multiple features to address the growing needs of digital archivists and back-end digital asset management system administrators. Power users can now bulk edit categories and apply metadata templates to save time cataloging massive photo shoots, organizing live event photography and more. Customers can now easily see who has what level of access to any object in Cumulus, making highly granular file permission handling even easier. The new version of Cumulus gives power users greater control over how fields are displayed to everyday users, such as the ability to specify a different number of digits that should display for currencies versus GPS coordinates from geotagged images.

Cumulus 9.1 continues on the promise of delivering “consumerized” digital asset management software for the enterprise. Cumulus’ Web interface continues to see monthly releases since its redesigned debut with the release of version 9 in October 2013, resulting in a highly-intuitive, easy-to-navigate web tool, with improvements such as: branding the UI, associating related files, visual annotations, threaded commenting, responsive design, metadata containing URLs rendered as hyperlinks, upload collection links for better collaboration with externals and more.

Cumulus 9.1 now includes items that were previously sold as separate add-ons, specifically the PDF Extended Pack, Office Extended Pack, InDesign Extended Pack and Sites Community, thus simplifying installation and improving user experience.

“With Cumulus 9.1 it is super easy to integrate your digital agency or freelance photographer in your workflow. You connect their preferred tool suite - Adobe Creative Cloud - to your Cumulus server without giving them access to your internal network,” commented Dr. Sebastian Stein, Cumulus Product Manager at Canto.

Canto will host a complimentary live Webinar showcasing the Adobe Drive Adapter for Cumulus on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 10AM PT / 1PM ET, click here for registration information and again on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 11AM CET European Time, click here for registration information.
