Portland, OR (PRWEB) August 06, 2014 -- ReShip.com is a Portland, OR based package forwarding company that has a worldwide customer base, and allows international customers to purchase goods from the United States that would otherwise not be available in their countries, due to either limited selection or a lack of shipping options for them. In light of the recent tragedy of the Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 (MH17) and the events that have followed, ReShip.com is suspending all service to Russia. Russian customers will have 30 days to ship any packages that are currently at the warehouse. Any packages that remain at ReShip.com after this deadline, will be sold with all profits going towards the Australian Red Cross in memory of the victims.
While ReShip.com does not normally take a position when it comes to world politics, the company finds themselves unable to stay quiet on the situation with Ukraine and Russia. It is no longer an issue between two countries, but also now a global one as the shooting down of the International Flight MH17 has shown. Until Russia removes themselves from the unrest in Ukraine, and ceases to arm the pro-separatists, ReShip.com will not resume service into Russia.
ReShip.com understand that many companies would not want to take a financial hit by following in their footsteps, but hopes that some do, as worldwide issues require global actions. At ReShip.com their motto is ‘Bringing the world to your door’, and they feel that in taking this action, they are staying true to that motto.
