xAd Appoints comScore Co-Founder Magid Abraham to Its Board of Directors
New York, NY (PRWEB) September 11, 2014 -- xAd, the global location marketplace, today announced the appointment of Dr. Magid Abraham to its board of directors. Abraham is the executive chairman and co-founder of comScore, and served as the company’s CEO from inception until March of this year.
As a widely recognized expert in digital data collection, analytics measurement and privacy, Abraham will advise xAd as it continues to develop its location data-driven product offerings including Footprints™, the industry’s first visualization platform of mobile-location behaviors, focused on capturing real-time store visitation information for ad targeting, insights and measurement solutions. Announced in April, the product is revolutionary in that it enables brands to evaluate real-time location behaviors by store, brand, or other points of interest for themselves, allowing for more immediate and informed advertising decisions.
“We have been looking for mentors to guide our team as we further evolve our technology,” said Dipanshu “D” Sharma, CEO at xAd. “Having built comScore from the ground up with a focus on data, measurement and privacy, and having led the company through a billion dollar valuation, we could not ask for a better mentor and board member than Magid. His guidance will be invaluable as we continue to develop our business.”
Abraham has received numerous awards for innovation in the digital marketing field. He has been a recipient of the MIT Sloan School of Management Buck Weaver Award, the Advertising Research Foundation‘s Great Mind Award and the American Marketing Association’s Parlin Award, a national honor recognizing one individual annually who has demonstrated “outstanding leadership and sustained impact evolving the profession of marketing research over an extended period of time”.
“xAd is developing some truly innovative technology based on real-time data that will make a big impact on how brands communicate with consumers in the mobile advertising space,” said Abraham. “I’m excited to be a part of it.”
Magid’s appointment comes at a time of significant momentum for xAd. Last week, the company announced that it has maintained profitability through a high-growth year and raised an additional $50 million in a funding round led by Institutional Venture Partners (IVP). In conjunction with the financing, xAd also announced the appointment of Dennis Phelps, a general partner at IVP, to its board of directors.
