New picture book showcases power of child’s creativity, imagination
(PRWEB) September 08, 2014 -- SAN FRANCISCO – Drawing from the unrestrained creativity and hijinks of the children she loved and cared for as a nanny as well as from her own childhood, author Renata Wundram explores the powers of imagination with her new children’s picture book. She tells the story of a young and impressionable girl, Kevina, and the incredible adventures she had with “The Pear Tree” (published by Xlibris).
To many it was just an ordinary tree, but to Kevina, it was an endless array of adventures just waiting to happen, a bridge to incredible journeys that beckoned to her. When she set foot on its branches, she was whisked to faraway kingdoms, explored the moon, became a princess, an astronaut or anything else she could envision with an unrestrained imagination, unbound despite the confines of her parent’s backyard.
With its vibrant illustrations and engaging narrative, Wundram’s story demonstrates to children the power of imagination and creativity, where any simple thing can be turned into whatever they want it to be. According to her, it also shows adults what can from the imagination when a simple tree in a backyard can be more beneficial and enjoyable to a child than other more expensive playthings.
“A child’s imagination is the great equalizer to playtime,” says Wundram. “All you need to do is turn the page and leave the rest to Kevina.”
