Allan Palmer’s New Memoir Takes Personal Look at Cancer
(PRWEB) June 30, 2014 -- Author Allan Palmer takes readers with him on a three-year journey battling cancer in his new memoir, “A Different Kind of Heat” (published by Xlibris AU).
In July 2010, Palmer was diagnosed with bowel cancer. It metastasized in Palmer’s liver. Before this diagnosis, he never had a health issue.
In “A Different Kind of Heat,” Palmer opens up about his mental state during the daily ups and downs of dealing with cancer and its subsequent treatments.
An excerpt from “A Different Kind of Heat”:
“Hi, my name is Allan Palmer, and this book is about the last three years of my life. It’s about discovering the strength we all have, both inner and outer, to overcome things when you don’t think you can, when life deals you the worst thing you can think of: cancer. So please come on a journey with me as I walk a very long path, because this journey affects us all. The journey to what I call a different kind of heat.”
Palmer hopes readers gain the hope to persevere when dealing with cancer’s effects and a better understanding of how cancer affects daily life.
