Author Dorothy A. Wyatt used to live in a small house near the woods where she fed birds and squirrels that lived behind her house. She now lives in a tall building away from the woods and misses feeding her animal friends. In her picture book, “The Adventure of Harwood Squirrel” (published by Xlibris), she shares the story of what happened to the animals after she left.

Harwood is a baby squirrel that lives with his brother, Garwood, and the other squirrels in the woods. Their life is easy because a little lady who lives nearby feeds seeds and nuts to the birds and to the squirrels. One day, the little lady moves out of her house, leaving the squirrels and the birds behind. What happens to Harwood when he starts looking for food is the start of an unforgettable adventure.
