With the desire to delve into the complexities of familial relationships, specifically those between the female members, author J.C. Wing pens an intricately woven tale of the lives of four females. “Alabama Skye” (published by Xlibris) is a story about the strength of four generations of women who discover that the ones who will stand by each person during difficult times are the ones called family.

When tragedy befalls Cheney McGillvray, she decides to pack up and leave her beloved home on Scotland’s Isle of Skye, ending up in her sister’s doorstep with a plan not only for her own future but also for that of her niece. Greer on the other hand, fresh out of culinary school and two months pregnant, takes the advice of her headstrong grandmother Sarah, and agrees to a partnership with her aunt. Together they transform Sarah’s beautiful old home into a proper Scottish B & B right in the heart of America’s southland.

As these two women begin their partnership, they will be tested by the nightmares of their pasts and they will find comfort and draw strength from each other to overcome what was and face what will come. Tackling the struggles and success of small business owners, and the intricate and complex nature of familial relationships, “Alabama Skye” showcases a realistic tale brought alive by colorful and interesting characters.
