Named one of the fastest growing agencies in 2013 by The Agency Post, Austin & Williams’ unprecedented growth has continued in 2014

Austin & Williams, a leading branding, advertising, digital and direct marketing agency headquartered on Long Island, New York, recently announced the hiring of six new digital and account management professionals – and promotion of five existing team members – to help the firm keep pace with its steady growth.

Named one of the fastest growing agencies in 2013 by The Agency Post, Austin & Williams’ unprecedented growth has continued in 2014, particularly in the digital marketing and development area, according to Rick Chiorando, agency principal and chief creative officer.

“We’ve expanded our client roster to reach beyond the northeast – with agency of record relationships with companies as far away as Texas and Florida – and our digital marketing and development business is literally exploding so we’re making significant investments in our digital talent and technology,” Chiorando explains.

Andrew Catalano has been promoted to the newly-created position of chief digital officer and is responsible for managing the agency’s digital marketing and development teams. The Rocky Point, N.Y., resident previously served as Austin & Williams’ director of digital strategy.

Reporting to Andrew is Kenneth Frey, who recently joined the firm as director of digital development. Ken, who most recently served as an adjunct professor at Dowling College in Oakdale, N.Y., leads the agency’s development team in the creation of websites and applications that are engaging, functional and conversion-focused. He resides in East Islip, N.Y.

Rounding out the additions to the agency’s web development team are Shamola Clarke and Michael Legemah.

Shamola Clarke was recently hired as a user experience analyst and web developer. The Queens Village, N.Y., resident previously worked as a freelance web developer.

Web developer Michael Legemah joined Austin & Williams from Web 4 Purpose in Elmont, N.Y., where he held a similar position. He resides in Hempstead, N.Y.

The agency also recently promoted four members of their digital marketing team: Alex Becker, Helen O’Rourke, Christine Medina and Elizabeth Pontillo.

Alex Becker of Commack, N.Y., was promoted to digital media strategist. Formerly the firm’s search marketing strategist, he is now responsible for creating and managing client campaigns across multiple platforms.

Working with Alex is Helen O’Rourke, who was recently named digital media coordinator. The Centereach, N.Y., resident, who places all digital ads on behalf of clients previously held the position of digital project manager at Austin & Williams.

Christine Medina was promoted to digital project manager and now works with the agency’s account management team to plan, coordinate, direct and implement digital campaigns and to develop client websites and content assets. Christine, who lives in Freeport, N.Y., formerly served as a digital marketing strategist at the agency.

Elizabeth Pontillo has been named search and social media strategist and is responsible for developing digital strategies for agency clients. The Oyster Bay, N.Y., resident was promoted to this position from copy editor.

Tina Choy is Austin & Williams’ new copy editor. Tina reviews all traditional and digital content to ensure its accuracy. She previously worked as content editor at the American Institute of Physics in Melville, N.Y. and lives in Babylon, N.Y.

The agency also recently added two new professionals to its account management team: Jennifer Forgét and Louis Frangella.

Jennifer Forgét of Islip, N.Y., joined the agency as a group account director. She oversees multiple lines of business and serves as the senior client service professional on such accounts as Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology, First Capital Bank of Texas and Project Freedom. Before joining the agency, Jennifer served as founder and president of Agency 4J, Inc., of Islip, N.Y.

Louis Frangella is an associate account executive who helps manage such accounts as Bridgehampton National Bank (BNB), Mid-Atlantic Federal Credit Union in Montgomery County, M.D. and O2G Gas Conversion.
